To fix this issue we need to take a look at where the money is being spent. New programs to help everyone is a great solution on paper, but like every household and business, you have to spend within your means. Last budget allocated over 100 million in spending for homeless prevention. Yet we still have a major issue. Where is the money being spent?

A job as a police officer is a dangerous and thankless job. We need to set police up for success not failure and bring trust back to the community. First, we need to redefine what calls dispatch to police and what calls need a social worker. Police are not trained for dealing with persons with disabilities, mental or physical. Social work

Social workers with one officer should be the first call when dealing with mental health crises.
Second, laws preventing police from doing their job is getting in the way of public safety. If a car is stolen, or a squatter takes over a house, police should have the capability to apprehend those in violation

Also putting height restriction barriers before low bridges will help reduce the collision rate.
